Dennis L. Schaeffer, age 76 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 4:55 p.m. on Tuesday (March 1, 2016) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper, IN.

Schaeffer, DennisDennis was born in Ferdinand, Indiana on October 6, 1939 to Leo and Clara (Welp) Schaeffer. He married Janice Henke on November 24, 1960 at Holy Family Church in Jasper, IN.

Dennis retired from Ditto Sales in Jasper.

He served in the Indiana Army National Guard.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and their Men’s Society, the Jasper Moose Lodge #1175, the American Legion Post #124 in Ferdinand, and Jasper Outdoor Recreation.

Funeral services for Dennis Schaeffer will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday (March 4, 2016) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, IN.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday (March 3, 2016) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, IN. The Jasper Moose Lodge #1175 will perform a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
