Lloyd E. Prusz, age 91, of Holland, passed away at 4:18 a.m., on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Brookside Village in Jasper.

Lloyd Prusz Obituary Photo594_edited-1He was born April 24, 1924, in Holland, Indiana to Edward and Katherine “Kate” (Steinkamp) Prusz. Lloyd graduated with the Holland High School Class of 1942 and was united in marriage to Melba Sarah Hemmer on November 28, 1947, in Holland. He was a retired farmer and a director of the former Holland National Bank. Lloyd was acknowledged for his progressive agricultural practices when he was honored with the Dubois County Conservation Farmer of the Year Award and the Indiana River Friendly Farmer Award. He was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church where he previously served as a Trustee, Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Indiana University basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Lloyd was preceded in death by: two brothers, Irvin Prusz and Lawrence Prusz; one son-in-law, Larry Krohn; and one grandson, Trey Townsend.

by (8) grandchildren and (7) great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Lloyd E. Prusz will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland with burial to follow at St. James Old Cemetery West in Holland. Pastor David Darling will officiate at the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-8:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Wednesday; and also at St. James Lutheran Church from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday, prior to the funeral.
