Ruthanna B. Welp, age 75, of Huntingburg, passed away at 4:53 p.m., on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

Ruthanna Welp Obituary Photo593_edited-1She was born January 16, 1941, in Bristow, Indiana to Ervin and Bernis (VanHoosier) Lanman. She was married to Charles T. Welp on August 27, 1960, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. Ruthie was a homemaker. Caring for her family was the primary focus and joy of her life. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and also enjoyed crossword puzzles and birdwatching. Ruthie was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles T. Welp, who passed away April 23, 2012; one sister, Rosie Schnellenberger; and one brother, James Lanman.

She is survived by:

Two sons and one daughter-in-law,
John (Iris) Welp of Madison, Wisconsin;
Scott Welp of Huntingburg, Indiana,
Two daughters and one son-in-law,
Christine (John) Fulkerson of Arlington, Texas,
Laurie Webb of Freedom, Indiana;
One sister and brother-in-law,
Patty (Marvin) Wright of Huntingburg, Indiana;
by (6) grandchildren and (6) great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ruthanna B. Welp will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery (Huntingburg).

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday. A parish rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday afternoon, at the funeral home. Condolences may be shared online at: www.nassandson.com.
