Charles Jess DeWeese, age 62, of Petersburg, passed away at 2:22 p.m., on Friday, April 8, 2016, at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg.

charles deweese obituary photo_edited-1He was born March 16, 1954, in Oakland City, Indiana to George DeWeese and Ima Jean Uppencamp. He married Sherry Hope Mitchell on May 24, 1974, in Birdseye. Charles worked in the salvage business and enjoyed fishing and squirrel hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Sherry Hope DeWeese, who died August 3, 2007.

He is survived by:

Two daughters,

Heather Sanders of Petersburg, Ind.,

Dyla (husband, P.J.) Barrett of Winslow, Ind.;

Three sons,

David DeWeese of Big Stone Gap, Virginia,

Nathan DeWeese of Petersburg, Ind.,

Danny DeWeese of Winslow, Ind.;

Two sisters,

Effie Warner of Winslow, Ind.,

Judy Gill of Oakland City, Ind.;

Five brothers,

Doc DeWeese of Winslow, Ind.,

Robert DeWeese of Winslow, Ind.,

David DeWeese of Evansville, Ind.,

Paul Gene DeWeese of Evansville, Ind.,

Henry DeWeese of Evansville, Ind.;

and ten grandchildren.

Viewing and visitation will be held for Charles DeWeese from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Monday, April 11, 2016, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with cremation to follow.
