Lula B. Buchta, age 90, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday (April 3, 2016) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.

Lula BuchtaLula was born in French Lick, Indiana, on July 13, 1925 to Elwood and Romie (Bledsoe) Carnes.  She married Linus Buchta on February 11, 1945 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on February 15, 2007.

Lula was a homemaker and member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville and the Eastern Star.

She enjoyed bowling, bingo, and reading.  She especially enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are one granddaughter, Tracy Ruckriegel, one son-in-law, Richard Ruckriegel, one sister, Betty Rominger, and two brothers, Elwood Jr. and Jesse Carnes.

Funeral services for Lula B. Buchta will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday (April 7, 2016) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Pastor Charla Grieves will officiate.

Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the 5:30 p.m. service time at the church on Thursday.
