A Jasper woman was placed under arrest after she was involved in a Domestic Battery incident Sunday evening at a residence on Jasper’s southeast side.

Shortly before 11 o’clock last night, the Jasper Police were called to a home located along the 600 block of Genevieve Avenue to the report of a verbal domestic dispute between two people who lived in the residence.

Police say when the arrived they found that the domestic was actually physical in nature and that the victim had blood coming from his neck and face.

Kandra Knies MugWhile officers were talking with the subject, 40-year old Kandra Knies, police say she became argumentative and belligerent and touched an officer on the neck and face. Police say Knies was told to calm down but she continued to approach and attempt to make rude physical contact with officers on the scene.

Police say she attempted to grab an officer’s groin after which she was restrained and taken into custody. They say Knies continued to be belligerent and continued to resist before being taken to Memorial Hospital for medical clearance due to her level of intoxication.

Police say while at Memorial, Knies continued her bad behavior and disrupted other patients in the hospital’s emergency room. Knies was then taken to the Dubois County Security Center where she was booked on a Misdemeanor counts of Domestic Battery, Resisting Arrest, 3 counts of Disorderly Conduct and a Level 6 Felony count of Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer.
