Herbert H. Fleck, 94, of Ferdinand, passed away, Friday, May 13th at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. Herbert was born April 23, 1922 in Ferdinand to Joseph and Agatha (Dall) Fleck. He married Anna Mae Weyer on June 11, 1946 in St. Ferdinand Church.

Herbert retired as a partner in Weyer Fleck Painting. He was a Founding and Charter Member of the Ferdinand American Legion Post 124. Herbert was a lifetime member of the Jasper VFW. He belonged to St. Ferdinand Parish and its St. Joseph’s Sodality. Herbert enjoyed his family and grandchildren, hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an avid outdoorsman.

Herbert is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Fleck of Ferdinand; two sons, David (Caren) Fleck of Simi Valley, CA and Bob (Charlene) Fleck of Huntingburg; one daughter, Annie (Rob) Oxley of Santa Claus; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Herbert was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Fleck and a sister, Florentine Schnell.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM in St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Ferdinand Church Cemetery with Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 conducting military graveside rights.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8:00 PM at Becher Funeral Home and Wednesday from 7-9:30 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ferdinand Parish or Ferdinand American Legion Post 124. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com
