Leon Floyd Vaeth, 70, of St. Meinrad, passed away, Thursday, May 12th at his home. Leon was born July 28, 1945 in St. Meinrad to Celestine and Josephine (Lemmer) Vaeth.

Leon was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of New Boston Fire Department. Leon enjoyed visiting with people and loved talking about history, especially the Civil War.

Leon is survived by one brother, Jim (Jane) Vaeth of Fulda; one niece, Jennifer Vaeth of Hawesville, KY.; one nephew, Tony Vaeth of Jacksonville, FL.; four great nephews, Krishan Vaeth, Sylas Vaeth, Elian Vaeth and Michael Vaeth; three great nieces, Kira Kellems, Bella Payne and Madelyn Vaeth.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday in St. Meinrad Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 3-7:00 PM CDT at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and Tuesday at the church from 9:00 AM CDT until time of services. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
