Stanley F. “Butter” Mehling, 76 of Saint Meinrad died Thursday May 19th in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center, Jasper. He was born in Saint Meinrad on July 1, 1939 to Hubert & Alice (Maffenbeier) Mehling. He married Beverly Ann Lechner on September 29, 1978 in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper. She preceded him in death on December 13, 2012.

Stanley retired from Best Chairs in Ferdinand. He was a member of St. Meinrad Parish and a member of St. Meinrad K of C # 5599. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wine making, gardening, woodworking, softball, & horse shoes.

Surviving are 5 sons, Quinn & Zack Mehling both of Saint Meinrad, Travis Mehling of Evansville, Justin Mehling of Cincinnati, & Joel Mehling of Tell City. 3 brothers, Norman (Judith) Mehling of Orange, VA., Jim Mehling of Saint Meinrad, & Terry (Donna) Auffart of Saint Meinrad. 3 sisters, Ann Hunt of Gainesville, GA., Margie (Mike) Steckler of Huntingburg, & Ruth (Ray Jr.) Fritz of Mariah Hill. 2 grandchildren, Napoleon & Olivia Mehling. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Joseph Mehling.

Funeral services 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday in Saint Meinrad Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8:00 PM CDT Monday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand & after 9:00 AM CDT Tuesday at the church. Online condolences may be made at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
