Leroy C.  Goeppner, age 72, of Jasper Indiana, passed away at 4:49 p.m. on Saturday  (June 18, 2016) at his home .

Goeppner, LeroyLeroy was born in Ireland, Indiana on August 26, 1943 to Albert and Mattieline (Huber) Goeppner. He married Joan Kunz on May 18, 1963 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

Leroy retired from Merkley’s  Meat Packing Company  where he had worked for  over 35 years.

He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, cooking and playing guitar. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. The White river Country Boys band for many years, also Jasper Outdoor Recreation club.

Preceding him in death is one son, Donald J. who died in infancy  and  one great grandchild Cole Schepers.  Also one brother Lee Goeppner.

Funeral services for Leroy Goeppner  will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, (June 23, 2016), in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday (June 22, 2016) at the Becher-Kluesner  North  Chapel in Jasper, IN.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lange Fuhs Cancer Center or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
