The Indiana Department of Transportation say a lane closure on State Road for bridge work 56 is set near Petersburg.

Beginning on or around next Monday June 20th, contractors will intermittently close one lane of State Road 56 while they resurface the deck of the bridge spanning Little Conger Creek.

INDOT says during that time, the bridge will be brought down to one 12-foot lane. Flaggers will be on hand to control traffic and restrictions will only be in place between the hours of 7 am till 5 pm local time.

Work in the area is expected to last until the beginning of August depending upon weather conditions. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.

Motorists can learn about highway work zones and other traffic alerts at indot.carsprogram.org, 1-800-261-ROAD (7623), or 511 from a mobile phone.
