A Huntingburg man accused of raping a minor in Huntingburg was found and placed under arrest in the northwest part of the United States yesterday and will be sent back to Dubois County to face charges.

Authorities say Roger Salinas, also identified as 43-year old Jose Ramon Aponte-Rolon of Huntingburg, is facing 17 charges including seven counts of rape of a minor, two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, four counts of criminal confinement, one count of kidnapping, one count of battery and one count of auto theft.

A couple months ago Detective Sgt. Christian Gogel with the Huntingburg Police Department and the Dubois County Department of Child and Family Services began to look into allegations of sexual misconduct and rape of a minor that allegedly took place in Huntingburg between November of 2013 and this past June.

Gogel sent his findings to the Prosecuting Attorney of Dubois County and obtained a warrant from Dubois County Circuit Court.

Yesterday afternoon the United State Department of Justice alerted local authorities of Salinas’ arrest in Spokane, WA.

He is now in custody and will soon be sent back to Dubois County.
