JASPER- Authorities from the Jasper Police Department, are seeking the public’s help in reference to an accident near the river-walk foot bridge between 4th street and 5th street which took place early this morning.

According to the Jasper Police Department they were dispatched at around 12 am this morning, to the river walk in reference to an incident of  leaving the scene. When officers arrived a bronze Nissan Maxima was lodged into the bridge causing damage to wood spindles and leaving the car totaled.

Officials say they searched the area extensively for the driver of the vehicle but were unable to locate the driver.
