JASPER- An update from the Jasper Police Department indicates that at around 7pm on Saturday the driver of the Nissan Maxima who lodged their vehicle into the Riverwalk foot bridge turned himself in.

26-year old David Manus of Hardinsburg went in to the station to assume responsibilities for fleeing the scene after he wrecked his car into the Riverwalk bridge between 4th street and 5th street.

Authorities had sought the public’s help to find Manus after being dispatched at around 12 am the same Saturday. As they arrived that morning officers found a bronze Nissan Maxima lodged into the bridge causing damage to wood spindles and leaving the car totaled.

Officers were unable to find Manus at that time.

When Manus turned himself in he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and was lodged and booked into the Dubois County Security Center. Authorities say he is now out on bond.
