Another mining operation in southern Indiana will go dark, and will layoff more than 100 workers.

Triad Mining LLC says up to 129 workers will be idled at the Log Creek Mine near Spurgeon in Pike County.

The layoffs are scheduled for early October. The company is owned by Kentucky-based Blackhawk Mining.

In March, the company announced it was idling the Freelandville Mining Operation in Edwardsport, Kentucky.

Mining at that location along with the 75 jobs that went with it ended in May.
