Early this morning shortly after 3 a.m. Huntingburg police observed a black Jeep Cherokee, driven by Robert Hoffman, traveling southbound at 108 miles per hour.

Officers attempted to perform a traffic stop but the vehicle fled. Hoffman left the road and struck a stop sign on 22nd Street from there he led the police on a chase through town on 22nd and Chestnut Streets. From Chestnut he tried to turn onto 12th street where he left the roadway again.

Hoffman was taken into custody as officers determined Hoffman had a .11 BrAc. He was transported to the Dubois County Security Center where he was lodged.

Huntingburg police were assisted at the scene by the Dubois County Sheriffs Department and KARS towing.
