The Dubois County Emergency Management Agency was recently honored with the Indiana Emergency Management Alliance of Indiana’s President’s Award.

EMA director Tammy Humbert along with deputy director Gary Fritz were presented the award last week in Indianapolis during the annual state conference of the Emergency Management Alliance of Indiana and Indiana Emergency Response Commission.

Humbert and Fritz’s response and involement in the response to the local avian flu outbreak last January earned them the award.

Humbert presented the alliance and commission a report about the local response to the emergency. She talked about how all the local agencies and businesses involved were able to come together quickly and work together efficiently to get the problem under control.
