The Huntingburg Police department has a new addition to the force.

24-year old Andrew Jones was sworn in during the Huntingburg Board of Public Works Meeting last Thursday bringing the total number of members to the department at and even dozen.

The next step for Jones will be taking part in training exercises till February at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield beginning today.

Jones is a 2010 graduate of Jasper High School and a four year veteran of the United States Marine Corps. During that time Jones spent 2 years in both Japan and Korea.

He comes to the Huntingburg Police Department after spending the last two years working as a corrections officer at the Branchville Correctional Facility in Perry County.

Jones replaces the recently retired Paul Lehr.

He and his wife, Jordan have two children.
