Three women, two from Pike County and one who hails from Gibson County were taken into custody after they allegedly took items from the Jasper Wal-Mart Store Thursday afternoon.

Around 1:30 yesterday afternoon Jasper Police were contacted by Walmart personnel in regards to three women they had detained for suspicion of shoplifting.

Police say during their investigation it was determined all three females 28-year old Evelyn Turner of Oakland City, 38-year old Suzanne Brucken and 27-year old Amanda Powell both of Winslow had concealed items under other items in their cart and in their purses.

They say some of the merchandise was paid for,
however; miscellaneous items such as craft and clothing items valued at just over 400-dollars was not paid for.

All three were charged with Class A misdemeanor counts of theft and lodged at the Dubois County Security Center.
