A Martin County woman wanted in connection with a shoplifting incident at the Jasper Walmart store has turned herself in to local authorities.

Jasper Police say thanks to the public’s assistance the suspect identified as 41-year old Stephanie Spring of Loogootee was identified and around 9 o’clock this morning turned herself in at Jasper Police Headquarters.

Late Monday afternoon Jasper Police asked for the public’s assistance in their attempt to locate and identify a woman they say was involved in a shoplifting incident yesterday afternoon at the northside Jasper supercenter.

Police say just before 3pm yWesterday dispatch was contacted by a Walmart Asset Protection Employee in reference to a female fleeing the store after she was confronted about the alledged incident.

Police say Spring attempted to take just under 83-dollars in merchandise including craft items, home décor and clothing.

She was charged with a Class A Misdemeanor count of Theft and lodged in Dubois Co Security Center.
