An Autopsy has been completed on Armando Gutierrez the Vanderburgh County man who was the subject of a six-hour standoff, in a home near downtown Jasper, last week on Thursday evening and was later found dead, the following Friday morning, in his cell at the Dubois County Security Center.

Initial autopsy results for 33 year old Gutierrez stating his manner of death and cause of death were categorized as undetermined and pending further investigation.

In a release, from the Dubois County Coroner office, on Sunday it was noted that preliminary autopsy results are inconclusive and are pending toxicology and a microscopic exam.

Gutierrez was found unresponsive in his cell by jail officers doing routine rounds at 6 am on Friday of last week. Deputies were called in for assistance and performed CPR until Memorial EMS could make the scene.

Gutierrez was taken to Memorial Hospital in Jasper where he was pronounced dead just after 8 am Friday morning.
