The Indiana State Police is offering young Hoosiers an exciting, up-close look at law enforcement and the criminal justice system through its summer youth camps. These camps help students gain respect for themselves and others through programs that highlight the rewards of hard work and dedication.
Career Camps give high school students a hands-on law enforcement experience. During the week-long camp, students will conduct their own crime scene investigations, hear from defense attorneys, judges, and other experts in the field, and watch police demonstrations.
Dates and locations for the 2017 Career Camps include:
- Vincennes University, June 25 through June 30;
- Trine University, July 9 through July 14; and
- Ancilla College, July 16 through July 21
For seventh and eighth-grade students, the four-day Law Camps offer a behind the scenes look at the criminal justice system through field trips, exciting demonstrations and other motivating programs.
The next Law Camp will be at Anderson University, June 28 through July 1.
ISP Summer Youth Camps are held at universities around the state. Each program includes meals and sleeping facilities. Staff members are hand-picked, responsible law enforcement personnel, who have committed themselves to preparing today’s youth for their futures.
