Larry Arnold, 69, of Dale, passed away at 6:20 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 at home.

He was born July 18, 1948 in Huntingburg to Cletus and Blanche (Sergesketter) Arnold.

A 1966 graduate of Dale High School, he attended Auto-Diesel College in Nashville, Tennessee, graduating in 1967. In 1968 he enlisting in the Navy Seabees and trained at the Great Lakes Naval Center in Northern Illinois, completing his Naval service in December, 1973 after a Tour of Duty in Vietnam.

He thoroughly enjoyed his career as a mechanic and also loved boating, camping and Nascar.

Survivors include his companion of 24 years, Georgia Tretter of Dale; her children, Kurt Tretter and wife Janis of Ferdinand and Julie Fischer and husband Dean of St. Anthony; four step-grandchildren, Taylor and Morgan Tretter and Kayla and Grant Fischer; one stepson, Brandon Law of Jasper; two sisters, Patricia Perry and husband Mike of Kokomo and Janet Villains and husband Pat of Dale; two brothers, Greg Arnold and wife Amy of Holland and Steve and wife Rita of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charlie Arnold.

His memberships included the Ferdinand American Legion and he was a past member of the Dale Lion’s Club.

Disposition of his cremains and a memorial service will be at a later date. Donations in Larry Arnold’s memory may be made to Ferdinand American Legion Post 124, Kindred Hospice or the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
