On Saturday August 18, 2017 at 6:11 a.m. the Martin County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Orange County Dispatch advising of a one vehicle accident just inside the Martin County line.  A vehicle was found on U.S. Highway 150 just west of Panhandle Road with an unconscious person. The vehicle, west bound, appeared to have driven down an embankment and impacted a tree.

Deputy Salmon and an ambulance was dispatched to the scene.  When Deputy Salmon arrived, Orange County law enforcement and emergency medical personnel were working the scene.  Shortly thereafter, Martin County Deputy Coroner Mark Franklin arrived at the scene, and he pronounced the victim, Lynette K. Lynch, age 47, of Liverpool, New York, deceased.  The case is still an open investigation, however, preliminary assessments indicate the victim may have fell asleep at the wheel.
