Jasper Police arrested a man at Memorial Hospital after he was discovered to have medical supplies in his backpack.

The Jasper Police Department was called to Memorial Hospital for the report of theft of medical supplies. Hospital Security had located medical supplies including a hypodermic needle in a backpack belonging to 33 year old Joshua Saylor of Eckerty.

Saylor was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the security center. He is facing charges of theft, possession of a Hypodermic Needle, Possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.

Police said during an inventory of Mr. Saylor’s property at the jail, a Schedule IV controlled substance was also located without a prescription.
