Jasper police continued to be busy on Wednesday night as they arrested a Jasper man after a report of a battery.

At 9:30 pm on Wednesday 25-year-old Alex Wagner was placed under arrest at the Manor Drive Apartments after police received a report from a neighbor stating they thought a battery was in progress.

When police arrived they could also hear arguing. Officers made contact with Wagner who was not a residence of the address and a female who does reside at the address.

Officers determined that 25-year-old Wagner had battered, strangled, and confined the female and would not leave the home.

He was arrested and transported to the Dubois County Security Center where he was booked on preliminary charges of Battery, Strangulation, Criminal Confinement and Disorderly Conduct.
