The Jasper Board of Public Works & Safety Tuesday appointed Jasper Officers Greg Brescher and Martin Loya to the position of Detective.

Brescher was a dispatcher from March of 2008 to October of 2013 and became a patrolman in October of 2013. He graduated from Vincennes University with an Associates Degree in Conservation Law in 2005, and then graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy with honors in 2014. Brescher will serve as general detective.

JPD Detective Greg Brescher

Brescher is on the JPD bike patrol, Emergency Response Team, Field Training Officer, he is also a certified car seat technician. In addition to his duties with the department, he is a member of the F.O.P., Ireland Lions Club, Ireland K of C, Ireland Historical society. He also owns and operates Critter Gitters, a nuisance wildlife removal service.

 

JPD Detective Martin Loya

Loya became a JPD officer in 2014. Prior to serving with JPD, he was a reserve officer with Washington PD and Petersburg PD. Loya graduated from the Southwest Indiana Law Enforcement in 2015. Loya is a Field Training Officer with our Department. In January, Loya was honored by the United States Attorney for Southern Indiana for his work on a credit card fraud case in 2015. Loya will serve as narcotics detective.
