A fire destroyed a minivan early Monday evening in the driveway of the vehicle owner’s home in the Duff area.

Around a quarter after 6 last night members of the Huntingburg Volunteer Fire Department were called the reported vehicle fire at the home of James LeClere located along the 4300 block of South County Road 650 West in southwest rural Dubois County.

Huntingburg Fire Department spokesperson John Smith says LeClere had just driven the van home before eventually noticing it was on fire.

Smith says when crews arrived they found the LeClere’s van completely engulfed in flames.

The vehicle was a total loss and there was a limited amount of heat and smoke damage to the garage area of LeClere’s home.

Three trucks and 20 members if the Huntingburg department were on the scene for 45 minutes
