A Huntingburg man was arrested on Tuesday night after police found a loaded syringe that tested positive for methamphetamine.

40-year-old Craig Anderson of Huntingburg was arrested following a traffic stop by Jasper Police Tuesday evening.

While on a routine patrol a JPD Officer and his K9 partner Ares conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on 4th Ave. near US 231.

The traffic stop was based on the registered owner of a 2009 Pontiac G6 having an active warrant and a suspended driver’s license.

Jasper Police reported that after making contact with the occupants of the vehicle none of them could/would produce ID’s and were evasive with answers to questions asked.

It was later determined that the wanted subject was not in the vehicle and that none of the occupants of the Pontiac had valid driver’s licenses.

The car was impounded and an inventory was done. Craig Anderson one of the passengers was found to be in possession of 2 syringes, 1 of them loaded with a liquid substance that later field tested positive as methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Anderson was arrested on charges of Poss of Meth (Lvl 6 Felony), Illegal Poss of a Syringe (Lvl 6 Felony), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Lvl 6 Felony), and Poss of Paraphernalia (C Misd).
