Donald L. Kluesner, age 68 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 9:35 a.m. CDT on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

Donald was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on July 11, 1950 to Othmar and Rosella (Streicher) Kluesner.  He married Sharon Messmer on November 5, 1971 in St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Donald served for 20 years as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #673 in Jasper, where he served as a Post Commander and was an active volunteer.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, sports, and watching his grandchildren’s sporting activities.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Kluesner, Jasper, one daughter, Denise Kluesner, Jasper, two granddaughters, Isabella and Alivia Kluesner, Jasper, one sister, Shirley Hasse (Jerry), Celestine, and two brothers, Edward Kluesner (Nancy), Jasper, and Dennis Kluesner of Haysville.

Preceding him in death was one daughter, Donna Kluesner, and his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald L. Kluesner will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.  The VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rights.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
