Harold Simon Pund, 76, of Mariah Hill passed away Friday September 28th at his home. Harold was born in Ferdinand on May 18, 1942 to Leo & Cornelia (Schum) Pund.  He was united in marriage to Paulita Schue on June 10, 1967 in Mary Help Of Christians Church.

Harold was a graduate of St. Ferdinand High School, & Forest Park Lettermans Club. Harold served in the Indiana National Guard.  He was a member of the Santa Claus American Legion Post 242, and was a member of St. Francis Of Assisi Parish, Mary Help Of Christians Church. Harold was a truck driver for many years at Winkler & Sons, a division of L & T trucking. He was also an insurance agent for Western & Southern Insurance Company. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and yard work.

Surviving are his wife Paulita (Schue) Pund, one son, Alex (Kelly) Pund of Troy. Three daughters, Twilan (Jerry) Moore of Dale, Tracy (Patrick) Fleck of Indianapolis, and Cybthia (Matt) Knepper of Evanston. Thirteen grandchildren, Caleb Sterling, Breanna (Eric) Henson, Jacob Sterling, Isaac, Evan & Andrew Fleck, Elijah Simon, Grant , Zachariah, Lillian, & Olivia Knepper, Oliver and Miles Pund. Two great-grandchildren, Paisley & Brantley Henson. Brothers, Kenny (Susan) Pund of Ferdinand, Robert (Janice) Pund of Santa Claus, Thomas (Linda) Pund of St. Anthony. Sisters, Rita Streicher of Ferdinand, Irma Jean (Ronald) Schulz of Ferdinand, and a sister-in-law, Mary Pund of Ferdinand. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Cornelia Pund, one brother, Bernard Pund and a brother-in-law, Tom Streicher.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Central at Mary Help Of Christians Church in Mariah Hill on Tuesday October 2nd, burial with military graveside rites by the Santa Claus American Legion Post 242 will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand from 1 to 7:00 PM Central Monday and from 7 to 9:30 AM Central Tuesday.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
