Ronald L. “Ron” Leech, age 78, of Birdseye, passed away at 12:58 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2018, at his home.

 

He was born August 25, 1940, in Monroe City, Indiana, to Bernard and Anna Jane (Lannan) Leech; and married Janet Borden on May 15, 1965, at Birdseye Christian Church.  Ron was employed at Kimball for 42 years; was a veteran of the United States Army; a member of the Birdseye Christian Church, St. Meinrad American Legion Post #366, Birdseye Conservation Club and the Jasper Moose Lodge.  He enjoyed woodworking, bird watching and doing word search puzzles.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his step mom, Doris Leech; and one sister, Sheri McCaul.

 

Ron is survived by his wife, Janet R. “Jan” Leech of Birdseye; one daughter, Rhonda (Johnny) Chumbley of Birdseye; one sister, Patty Bruner of Shepherdsville, KY; one brother, David (Linda) Leech of Henderson, KY; one brother-in-law, Jim McCaul of Pittsburg, PA; and two grandchildren, Brandon and Austin Chumbley.

 

Funeral services for Ronald L. Leech will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T, Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg.  Burial will take place at the Birdseye Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the St. Meinrad American Legion Post #366.

 

Friends may call for visitation from 3:00-8:00 p.m., on Monday, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home and also from 9:00-10:00 a.m., the day of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Birdseye Christian Church.  Condolences may be shared online at:  www.nassandson.com
