Thomas E. Benda,  age 73, of Dubois, Indiana, passed away at 6:15 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018, at home.

Tom was born in Stonewood, West Virginia, on June 3, 1945, to Paul and Margaret (Kovalan) Benda.  He married Jane H. Seng on August 7, 1971, in St Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, Indiana.

Tom retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years of service.

He was a US Army Veteran and served in Vietnam.

He was a member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, Indiana.

He enjoyed Ford Mustangs, NASCAR, working outdoors and keeping a neat, “tidy” place, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife Jane Benda, Dubois, In, one daughter, Tara Benda (fiancé Lee Krystinik) of Skiatook, Oklahoma, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, sister, Mary K (Benda) Steffick, brother, David Benda, brother-in-law, Tom Steffick, and sister-in-law, Kathleen (Seng) Ebert.

A Memorial Mass for Thomas E. Benda will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The V.F.W. Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rights.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Isidore Catholic Church, St. Jude’s Hospital, Sisters of St. Benedict, or a favorite charity.
