A Jasper man faces a theft charge after trying to steal from Walmart.

Officers were dispatched to Walmart Thursday evening referencing a shoplifter.

When arriving on the scene, Asset Protection had already detained 49-year-old Tommy Critchfield.

Critchfield was found to be switching price tags on multiple items and concealing other items on his person.

Critchfield is lodged into the Dubois County Security Center and charged with theft.
