A Washington man is facing charges after police say they found his one-month-old baby unresponsive.

On July 23rd, Indiana State Police was dispatched to a home in Loogootee to investigate the baby’s injuries.

ISP says that 26-year-old Bobby Leighty was taking care of his one-month-old baby, Kyson Jones. That afternoon, the baby became unresponsive.

Police say Leighty called family members, who arrived a short time later and called 911.

The baby was originally taken to the Daviess County Hospital before being airlifted to Riley’s Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, where he stayed until Friday.

According to a press release, the baby was taken off life support and later died.

Since the infant died, Leighty will be charged with neglect resulting in death.
