A Boil Advisory is in effect until further notice for some Huntingburg residents.

The advisory affects those who live on Washington Street between the 1st and 3rd streets.

While under this advisory, residents should boil water vigorously for 3 minutes before using or use ice from the household ice maker.

Residents can disinfect dishes and other food surfaces by immersion for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains 1 teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.

Discolored water is also possible during this advisory. Customers are advised to use caution when doing laundry. It is recommended to flush the cold water line before doing the laundry.

Water that is used to wash hands or bathing does not usually require boiling.
