Dubois County is in the top three for the lowest unemployment rate.
For August, Bartholomew County had the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 2.3 percent.
Dubois and Gibson were not far behind, tied for the second-lowest rate at 2.4 percent.
For these three counties, this was a decrease from last month’s unemployment rate of 2.6 percent.
Numbers for the surrounding counties include: Daviess County at 2.5, Martin and Spencer counties tied at 2.7 percent, Perry at 3.0, Warrick at 2.8 percent, Pike at 3.1, Orange County at 3.3, and Crawford at 3.7 percent.
The statewide unemployment rate for August is 3.2 percent, which is lower than the national rate of 3.7.
