A Tell City man is in custody after trying to steal over $600 worth of items from Walmart.

Police say 40-year-old Donnie McLain loaded $604.67 worth of items in a shopping cart, and left the Newton Street Walmart without paying.

McLain was found and arrested in the Home Depot parking lot.

He was booked into the Dubois County Security Center and charged with theft.
