A Washington County woman is behind bars for reckless homicide.

Indiana State Troopers arrested 50-year-old Shannon Hubbard of Pekin on Thursday after investigating a fatal head-on crash.

When driving on US 421 in southern Ripley County on June 24th, Hubbard crashed into 21-year-old Henry Finney of Madison head-on.

Finney later died at a nearby hospital. Hubbard was injured in the crash but survived.

While reconstructing the crash, state troopers learned that Hubbard was going 79 miles per hour southbound on US 421 trying to pass a car but instead crashed head-on with Finney, who was going northbound.

Toxicology tests say Hubbard had THC in her system.

Hubbard is in the Washington County Jail, waiting to be transferred to the Ripley County Jail for an initial circuit court appearance.
