An Evanston man is dead after an ATV crash on Monday.

Indiana DNR Conservation Officers found 49-year-old Dale Carter on County Road 1200 East near Evanston on Monday night.

Police believe Carter lost control of his four-wheeler, ejecting him.

Officers say Carter was not wearing any protective gear or helmet at the time of the crash.

Carter was flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, where he died on Tuesday.

The cause of the crash is unknown and under investigation by Indiana DNR Conservation Officers.
