One person is dead and two others are injured after a two-vehicle crash in Spencer County.

Crews responded to reports of a crash on State Road 545 near County Road 1350 North around 8 pm Thursday.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a Pontiac passenger car was heading northbound on State Road 545 before going off the road, hitting a ditch.

The car then came back on the roadway, in the path of a pickup truck going southbound.

Hunter Greulich of Evanston, who was in the Pontiac, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jacob Ninke of Grandview and Derek Mulzer of Evanston were also both in the Pontiac and flown from the scene to an area hospital.

The driver of the truck, identified as John Korresell of Cannelton was driven to an area hospital. Their conditions are not known at this time.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
