It’s that time of year again! The Southern Indiana Leatherneck Detachment is now collecting toys for this year’s Toys for Tots Campaign.

The toy collection officially started on November 16th.

All toys donated go to disadvantaged children in the five surrounding counties including Dubois County.

SILD Marine Corps Public Affairs Officer, Steve Lindauer, says it’s important to make sure no kids feel left out during the holiday season.

Lindauer says the national campaign has been up and running for years and continues to grow.

Last year’s collection was quite successful. Southern Indiana Leatherneck Detachment Junior Vice Commandant, Tonya Bardsley has more.

If you wish to donate, Bardsley says there are a few simple guidelines.

All toys will be picked up periodically and transported to a collection site to be distributed.

The last date for pick up is December 14.
