Vincennes University’s American Sign Language and Deaf Studies program has a new name.

The program is now known as the American Sign Language & Deaf Studies – Interpreter Preparation.

This change reflects the University’s commitment to serving those seeking an associate’s degree or a Certificate of Program Completion, or those going on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in ASL Interpreting.

Vincennes University is the only public university in the state that offers an academic program American Sign Language & Deaf Studies – Interpreter Preparation in a fully immersive educational environment located on the Indiana School for the Deaf campus in Indianapolis.

ASL faculty are Deaf, native signers who provide students with learning-centered instruction, application-to-practice to acquire ASL, and service-learning opportunities to work with Deaf people in the community.
