The Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana is taking proactive measures to fight against the novel coronavirus.

As of last week, the program took the following actions:

-postponed events including large-scale council events, volunteer-led events, and troop meetings

-and asked all staff members to work from home.

Although many events have been postponed because of school closings, Girl Scouts is not canceled.

The program is currently working with the Girl Scouts of the USA to switch their program delivery mode to virtual instruction and engagement.

The following programs are in development:

-National live virtual events: virtual sessions with badge related activities for all girls and their families, not only members, using materials in their home.

-Downloadable digital program content: videos, activity resources, and expert guidance for families and volunteers on leading girls through this difficult time.

-Virtual service projects: identifying ways for girls to flex their service muscle with a national service project.
