A tip-off to Vincennes Police landed two behind bars.
On Saturday, officers with the Vincennes Police Department got a tip that drugs were being dealt out of the side door of a local motel. Officers started an investigation and were able to find two suspect vehicles that had been in the location showing behavior common with drug activity.
Later on, the vehicles left the parking lot within ten minutes of each other. Officers followed both vehicles. Both vehicles were stopped for traffic violations.
During one officer’s stop, he developed probable cause to arrest Maria Beamon, a passenger in the vehicle, for drug offenses after obtaining consent to search the vehicle from the driver.
During the other officer’s stop, a K9 conducted an open-air sniff on the vehicle of Larry Conrad. The K9 alerted officers to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. Officers located a small plastic bag of methamphetamine and a glass smoking device. Conrad admitted to smoking Methamphetamine in the parking lot of the motel approximately twenty minutes prior to the traffic stop. Conrad was placed under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Later in the evening, a search warrant was served on the hotel room. The search warrant yielded more methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and items commonly associated with dealing methamphetamine.
Beamon was placed under arrest for dealing Methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and maintaining a common nuisance.
