The pick-up truck driver, identified as 53-year-old Blake Gutgsell of Birdseye, suffered a head injury. He was transported to Memorial Hospital in Jasper before being flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville for further treatment.

No students were on the bus at the time of the accident.
