A lost hunter in Perry County has been found safe.

Central dispatch received information about a lost hunter in the area of Old Chapel Cemetery Road in Perry County around 5:44 am on Tuesday.

Sheriff Deputies, dispatch, and EMA looked for the hunter throughout the morning.

During this time, they were advised that the hunter had been in the woods since 9 pm the night before the initial call.

Dispatch and sheriff deputies were eventually to contact the lost hunter by cell phone to get a better location.

The hunter and his dog were found around 8:12 am Tuesday in good health, but tired and slightly dehydrated and reunited with their family.
