Two Southern Indiana counties have one of the lowest jobless rates in the state.

Daviess and Dubois County tied for the third-place seat in September with a 2.3% rate.

The numbers for our surrounding counties include Martin at 2.4%, Warrick and Gibson counties at 2.6, Spencer at 2.8, Knox and Perry counties at 3.0, Pike and Crawford at 3.4, Vanderburgh County at 3.8, and Orange at 4.6.

The state’s rate fell to 4.0% in September, which is a decrease from the August rate of 4.1%.

Indiana’s unemployment is still below the national rate of 4.8%.
