A fire late last night destroyed the historic Oakland City Fraternal Order of the Eagles Building.

Oakland City Police said that Eagles employees smelled smoke around 10:15 Tuesday night and soon after the fire quickly rose.

The fire started in the upstairs of the two-story building and everyone inside the building evacuated safely and no one was injured.
