Bonnie Louise Kerstiens, 71, of Ferdinand, passed away on Monday, July 29th at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. Bonnie was born March 12, 1953 in Huntingburg to Richard and Aleene (Blessinger) Lange. She married Eugene Kerstiens on July 19, 1975 in St. Ferdinand Church.

Bonnie was an Elementary School teacher at Precious Blood in Jasper for 31 Years. She was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. She enjoyed going for walks, traveling and vacations with family and friends. Costa Rica and the Caribbean were some of her favorites. She also enjoyed Sudoku Puzzles and Crossword Puzzles. Bonnie loved being with her family, especially her 6 grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Gene Kerstiens; son, Jared (Jodi) Kerstiens of Zionsville; daughter, Janelle Wahl of Newburgh; 6 grandchildren, Norah, Asher and Graham Kerstiens, Raigen, Sophia and Brooks Wahl; her mother, Aleene Lange of Ferdinand; 3 brothers, Ken (Selma) Lange, Dick (Jane) Lange and Jim (Maria) Lange all of Ferdinand; sister, Judy (Greg) Englert of Ferdinand. Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Richard Lange.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 AM in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at a later date. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 31st from 3-8:00 PM at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and on Thursday at the church from 9:00AM until time of services.
